Two-Week Grace Period
You and your students can try Eli Review for free for two weeks.
For new instructors, 14 days allows for 1-2 write-review-revise cycles and so instructors can see if Eli is a good fit.
For returning instructors, 14 days allows students to arrange financial aid, student loans, or other means to purchase a subscription.
You can start the two-week clock whenever you wish—today, next month, next semester. Just choose the date you want the free access to begin, AFTER that date invite your students to enroll. Students will be able to enroll and submit work during the two week grace period without being prompt to subscribe.

How does the grace period work?
Instructors schedule the free two weeks.
After the free trial begins, students enroll, either by using your course code or through an integration.
At the end of the free two weeks, students will be prompted to subscribe in order to enroll in that course.
If students enroll in the course before they free trial is scheduled, they will be prompted to subscribe until the free trial begins. Once the free trial begins, they can submit work without being prompted to subscribe.
When you’re ready to begin the grace period, setup is automatic and easy:
Sign up: if you haven’t already, create an account and sign in. It’s always free for instructors and students.
Start a course: again, if you haven’t already, you’ll be prompted to start a course after signing up. This too is always free for instructors.
Set up your grace period: you’ll see a button labelled “Start Your Free Two Weeks” – simply click it and specify when you want the access to start. You’ll receive a confirmation email, and you’ll see a reminder that the course is free for students who enroll throughout the duration of the grace period.
Give students the information to enroll in your Eli Review course. Students will enroll by typing your course code (locate it under the Roster tab) or by clicking on the Eli Review external tool link if your campus has an integration.

We have a sample activity schedule that will help you get your students signed up, giving helpful feedback, and revising in as little as 3 days.
What happens after two weeks?
You have options about how you and students can continue to benefit after the end date of the free access.
What happens to your course?
You may elect to continue using the course. If you do, students will need to purchase a subscription in order to continue participating in the course.
The course itself, including the task and course analytics, are always available to you for free. If you’d like a tour of the data Eli captured during the two week period, contact [email protected] to set up a time.
If you plan to use Eli in a later term, keep designing! Any writing and review tasks you save will be available when you “load task from library” in your next course.
What happens to student work if I don’t elect to continue?
Students retain permanent, free access to everything they previously completed during the two week trial. After the free trial expires, you can adjust the course end date (under Settings) to align with the end of the two weeks. This allows students to view their completed Eli Review work without a subscription.
Because students retain access, consider asking them to reflect on their experience giving helpful feedback by examining the “Feedback You Gave” report in a review task (link). Reflection makes the process count, emphasizes the learning goals related to better feedback, and can give you a richer account of student’s experiences in Eli.
